Multi-Agency Drug Round-Up Results In Numerous Felony Drug Arrests

Officers with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, the Waynesboro Police Department, the South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force, and the Clarke County Sheriff’s Department conducted what is commonly referred to as a “round up”. This is the phase of a lengthy undercover drug investigation where the violators are arrested. This particular investigation targeted suspects that were allegedly involved in illegal drug activity ranging from marijuana, cocaine, and prescription drugs.
Sheriff Farrior said, ”In a lot of cases, citizens in the communities provided us with information that led to us making a case. The good people want this drug activity out of their community and played an instrumental role by basically reporting the activity to us.” Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. conducted an initial appearance for the individuals charged and set bonds accordingly.

- Thomas Ledger Cooley; W/M; 22; West Pine Street; Waynesboro, Ms; 2 counts of sale of marijuana within 1500 feet of a church.
- Tyson Warren; B/M; 33; West Robinson Junction Road; Waynesboro, Ms; sale of marijuana within 1500 feet of a church.
- Robert Kenneth Gaines; B/M; 46; Hill Drive; Buckatunna, Ms; 2 counts sale of cocaine within 15oo feet of a church; & possession of cocaine.
- Michael D. Evans; B/M; 51; Plesant Grove Altair Road; Laurel, Ms; sale of cocaine & hold for MDOC.
- Stacey Lacey; B/F; 30; Cane Mill Drive; Waynesboro, Ms; sale of marijuana.
- Adrain Dewayne Gray; B/M; 33; Mitchell Street; Waynesboro, Ms; 2 counts sale of marijuana within 1500 feet of a school.
- Tyson Gray; B/M; 23; Ellerbe Street; Waynesboro, Ms; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1500 feet of a school.
- Elmer Holifield; WM; 49; Turner Street; Waynesboro, Ms; 2 counts sale of prescription drugs within 1500 feet of a church.
