WCSD officers responded to 680 incidents during the last 28 days. This is down by 85 from the January figures. Officers also held 103 premises checks of business and schools in the area. “Wayne County’s major crime rate continues to decline thanks to the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our communities,” said WC Sheriff Jody Ashley. “While this is good news, we remain diligent in our efforts to ensure Wayne County remains the safest place to live and raise a family,” added Ashley.
