Law Enforcement Agencies Respond To Complaints Of Prostitution

The South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force, Waynesboro Police Department, and The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded to an overwhelming amount of complaints about prostitution activity at a local motel. South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force Commander Brent Pursell and Waynesboro Police Department Investigator Mark West spearheaded the operation which included the combined effort of SMNTF Agents Brad Warrick, Keith Churchwell, David Snowden, & Agent Brad Singleton which is Wayne County Sheriff’s Department's Agent assigned to the SMNTF.
The operation has led to the arrest of three individuals which have been charged with prostitution. Those arrested were Minnie Louise Jones, Donna Jean Butler, and Brandy Marie Edwards. Prostitution is a misdemeanor offense and carries a maximum penalty of 6 months and/or $200.00 fine. With the investigation revealing that there are many more people involved in the illegal prostitution activity, the operation will continue and more arrests are expected.
