Call About Suspicious Vehicle Leads To Drug Arrest

On August 20th 2006, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Deputies Jimmy Bunch, Patrick Johnson, and Todd McCaskey arrested James Terry Reed for driving on the wrong side of the road, DUI refuse test, and felony possession of prescription drugs without prescription.
 
The arrest is the result of the Deputies investigating the report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of a woods fire on the Leonard Street Road. Deputies responded and spotted the vehicle on the Beat Four Shubuta Road and conducted a traffic stop. Reed was found to be in possession of several prescription drugs. Reed was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, dui refuse test, & felony possession of prescription drug without a prescription.
 
South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force Agent Brad Singleton will be presenting the drug case to the January 2007 Grand Jury. The felony charge of possession of prescription drug without prescription carries a maximum of 8 years. Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. set Reed's bond at $5,000.00.
