National Center for Missing & Exploited Children Donates Equipment to WCSO

December 13, 2006

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and Canon have provided the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department with a Canon digital camera, Canon digital video recorder, Canon photo printer, and a Canon Photo scanner. The NCMEC also provided a laptop computer, and a Locater software program.

This equipment is to aid in missing children cases as wall as other criminal investigations. The Locater software program allows the Sheriff’s Department to generate a poster that can be printed or e-mailed to all participating agencies for distribution. This equipment was provided to the Sheriff’s Department at no cost. “Harold Jones and Lee Manning, representatives of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, were instrumental in acquiring the equipment for the Sheriff’s Department”, said Investigator Kevin Stevens.
