WCSO Raising Funds To Purchase Patrol Cameras

March 14, 2007

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department is in need of four in car patrol video cameras. These video systems are a great asset when it comes to evidence collection. Cameras are activated with the blue lights or may be activated manually. Officers will have invaluable evidence in DUI cases, domestic violence calls, disturbances, pursuits, etc.... With the in car video systems, judges and juries are capable of seeing exactly what occurred and who said what.

At the present time The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has four patrol cars that are not equipped with these systems. These systems are priced at $1895.00 each. Anyone wishing to assist the Sheriff’s Department in obtaining these much needed cameras may make a donation to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department by making checks payable to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Fund Raiser and mark them for cameras. Donations may be delievered to the Sheriff's Department during office hours.
