Manning Arrested On Drug Charges

On July 30th 2007, at approximately 2100 hours, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force arrested Michael Manning on drug charges. The SMNTF had an outstanding warrant for Manning’s arrest for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. SMNTF Agent Johnny Smith had been attempting to locate Manning. WCSO Investigator Kevin Stevens obtained information from confidential informants that were reporting Manning's location and possible drug activity .
SMNTF Agent Johnny Smith and WCSO Chief Deputy Gerald Barnett located Manning at a residence located on River Drive in Buckatunna. Manning was arrested with no incident. According to Agent Smith marijuana and meth paraphernalia was also discovered.
