Drug Round-Up Nets Eight Arrested & More Pending

Local Law Enforcement Agencies are seeing results in the ongoing war on drugs. The South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, and The Waynesboro Police Department have began what is referred to as a “Round Up”, which is simply locating and arresting and those violators that have been caught selling drugs. A lengthy undercover investigation has landed drug charges on numerous individuals. This investigation has been conducted for about six months.
There have been eight drug violators arrested to date as a result of this investigation. Several more drug violators are still being sought. “If you have been selling drugs then you just may be on our list”, said Sheriff John Stein Farrior. The names of those still being sought will be released at a later date.

- Purvis Lagarren Everett Jr. of Holly Bush Church Road - 1 count Sale of Cocaine.
- Fredrick Russell of Highway 45 - 1 count of Sale of Marijuana.
- Jennifer Allana Chearis of Landfill Road - 1 count of Sale of Cocaine.
- Michael Deshawn Lacey of North Maynor Creek Drive - 2 counts Sale of Cocaine.
- Willie Lewis Lacey of Miller Trailer Park Drive - 1 count Sale of Cocaine.
- Aubrey Smith of Matherville Frost Bridge Road - 1 count of Sale of Cocaine.
- Reginald Jerome McCann of Dogwood Drive - 1 count of Sale of Cocaine.
