Two Charged In Sunday Night Shooting Incident

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has arrested and charged two individuals on felony charges related to the September 27th 2009, shooting incident on Pugh Road. A call came into dispatch shortly after 2200 hours reporting that two black males were outside of a residence with firearms arguing with an individual. Deputies Charles Everett and Kyle Smith responded. Before the deputies arrived a second call was received reporting that the house had been shot into.
Deputies Everett and Smith collected several items of evidence from the scene. Investigators Mike Mozingo and Kevin Stevens learned that the incident revolved around and argument involving a girlfriend and her child. Deputy Everett, Investigators Mozingo and Stevens recovered an assault style rifle from a residence located on Essie McGill Drive Monday evening.
Shuntorey Odom was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Cardaris Odom was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling house. Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. set bond for Shuntorey Odom at $10,000.00 and Cardaris Odom at $25,000. Investigator Mozingo will present the case to the January 2010 Wayne County Grand Jury.
