Stolen Golf Cart Recovered And Two Suspects Charged

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged two individuals with burglary of a storage building in connection with the recent theft of a golf cart from Beat Four School. A golf cart valued at approximately $3,500 was reported stolen by school officials on September 2nd 2010. Seventeen year old Samuel Dalton Rackley and a sixteen year old juvenile were charged with burglary of a storage building. Rackley being seventeen years old was charged in Circuit Court and the sixteen year old was charged in Youth Court.
The break in the case came when an anonymous person called dispatch Saturday afternoon and reported that the stolen golfcart was located at a residence on Clara West Road. Two individuals also called Sheriff Farrior with information Saturday after they heard about the stolen golf cart.
Investigators Mike Mozingo and Kevin Stevens along with Deputies Michael Patton, Jamey Beard and Brandon Purvis began looking for the suspects Saturday evening but was not successful in locating them. The batteries and other parts of the golf cart was discovered at the residence on Clara West Road Saturday evening. Rackley and the Juvenile turned themselves in at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday morning. Rackley’s bond was set at $5,000 by Wayne County Justice Court Judge Jane Hutto. Investigators Mozingo and Stevens and school Officials located and recovered the golf cart in a wooded area on Clara West Road.
