The Wayne County Sheriff Department received a tip from Wayne County Investigator Jamey Beard Thursday afternoon (2-18-16) that a black Suburban driven by Emmett Mcnider (11/1/1979) was leaving Choctaw County, Alabama, headed to Mississippi and might be in possession of illegal drugs.
Wayne County Sheriff Jody Ashley and Chief Deputy Mike Mozingo, along with MBN Field Agent Tony Johnson, stopped the vehicle in question about 3:38 p.m. at the intersection of highways 45 and 84 on a traffic stop.
Mcnider of 1135 County Road 9, Sweet Water, Alabama, was found to be in possession of Lortabs by WCSD Drug Investigator Johnny Smith. Mcnider is charged with possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance.
Sheriff Ashley has set the tone in Wayne County to clean up the illegal drug trade. “I made a promise to the people of Wayne County that I would be active in making this community a better place to live. I hope the message is clear to those who are dealing drugs that they are not welcome in our county,” said Ashley.
