Floral Arrangements Stolen From Grave Site

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department received a call reporting that there had been some items stolen from a grave site at Maynor Creek Church. Deputy Jimmy Bunch responded and learned that a two wreath arrangements had been stolen. One wreath was described as having flowers, yellow ribbons, and butterflies. The second was describes as having a grape vine, with numerous fishing lures, a large plastic fish, and a boat paddle.

Do NOT attempt to apprehend this person. Anyone that may have information related to this incident is asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff's Department at 735-3801 or Crime Stoppers at 735-LEAD (5323). You can also submit information online using our "Submit a Tip" form. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.

The two wreaths along with all the items were returned to the cemetery after the story was published in the Wayne County News and the WCSO website. "With the help of the community and the concerned citizens of the County and everyone working together, incidents such as this cane be brought to a close.” said Sheriff Farrior.
