WCSO & SMNTF Makes Drug Arrest On D Hutto Drive

On August 11th 2006, The South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force received a call reporting that a marijuana plant was growing in the front yard of a residence located on D Hutto Drive. South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force investigated and observed a marijuana plant growing in a pot near the public roadway in plain view.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on a residence located on D Hutto Drive and collected the marijuana plant as well as some seeds from inside the residence. Paul Edward Byrd Jr. was arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana. Wayne County Justice Court Judge Jane Hutto set Byrd's bond at $10,000.00. SMNTF Agent Brad Singleton will be presenting the case to the January 2007 Grand Jury.
