Man Charged With Arson In Wednesday Night Blaze

On August 24th 2006, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged Ricky Aggee with Arson. On August 23rd 2006, at approximately 2318 hours, The Waynesboro Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire located at 13 Trigg Road. After the fire was suppressed, Waynesboro Fire Chief Buster Crocker requested Fire Investigator Mike Mozingo to investigate the fire.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Fire Investigator Mike Mozingo and Mississippi State Deputy Fire Marshall Ken Carraway investigated the fire and determined that the fire was intentionally set. Physical evidence was gathered and submitted to the Mississippi Crime Laboratory for analysis. Several witnesses have cooperated with the investigation and provided valuable information to authorities.
On August 25th 2006, Wayne County Justice Court Judge Jane Hutto conducted an initial appearance and set Agee a bond for $80,000.00. Investigator Mike Mozingo will present this case to the January 2007 Grand Jury. Arson of a dwelling carries a maximum of 20 years and/or $10,000.00 fine.
