Washington County Sheriff's Dept. & Wayne County Sheriff's Department Recover Stolen Mowers & Arrests Two Men

Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has arrested Joseph Scott Dearmon and Joey Melvin Carpenter for burglary of a storage building at a residence located on the Buckatunna Millry Road on August 8th 2006. Two Craftsman riding mowers were stolen from the locked building. Carpenter and Dearmon are both from Millry, Alabama.
The break in the case was when the victim received information that the mowers were located in Washington County, Alabama. Sheriff Farrior coordinated with Sheriff Wheat and Chief Deputy John Traylor who in turn recovered both mowers.
Investigators Mike Mozingo and Kevin Stevens traveled to Washington County and worked with Sheriff Wheat and Chief Deputy John Traylor to gather the necessary evidence to charge Carpenter and Dearmon.
Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. set bonds at $2,500.00 for each man. Investigator Mike Mozingo will present the case to the January 2007 Grand Jury.
