Cooley Sentenced In Aggravated Assault Case

On September 15th 2006, Wayne County Circuit Judge Lester Williamson Jr. accepted a plea petition and sentenced David Earl Cooley to 20 years with 11 of those years suspended; 9 years to serve with the Mississippi Department of Corrections and then 5 years on probation. Cooley was convicted of aggravated assault. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested Cooley for the June 25th 2005, shooting of another individual. The shooting is believed to be the result of an earlier argument.
