WCSO & SMNTF Make "Ice" Arrest

On November 22nd 2006, at approximately 2100 hours, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force arrested Adam Clayton Pitts for possession of crystal “ICE” methamphetamine with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm; possession of less than one ounce of marijuana; possession of beer in dry county; driving while license suspended; & disorderly conduct.
Investigator Mike Mozingo, Chief Deputy Gerald Barnett, SMTF Agents Johnny Smith and Brad Singleton were conducting a checkpoint at the intersection of Strengthford Cooley Rd and Pleasant Grove Strengthford Rd. when the arrest occurred. Approximately three grams of methamphetamine was discovered in Pitts' possession. A .20 gauge shotgun, $127.00 cash, and weighing scales were seized by Officers. The Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. set Pitts’ felony bond at $30,000.00.
