Two Men Charged With The November 25th Burning Of A Mobile Home

November 30th 2006, Johnnie Renado Bennett and Edward O’Brian Williamson was arrested and charged with arson of a dwelling. The arrests are the result of the investigation conducted by Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Fire Investigator Mike Mozingo and Deputy State Fire Marshall Ken Carraway of the November 25th 2006, mobile home fire located on Mathersville Diamond Road.
Bennett was taken into custody by SMNTF Agent Johnny Smith and Commander Brent Purcell. Bennett was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bennett was found to be in possession of an assault rifle. Williamson surrendered himself to Fire Investigator Mozingo at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. set Bennett’s bond at a total of $60,000.00 and Williamson’s at $20,000.00. Fire Investigator Mozingo will be presenting the case to the June 18th 2006 Grand Jury.
