School Bus Stolen From School Burns

On February 27th 2007, at approximately 0300 hours, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department received a call reporting that a school bus was on fire at the intersection of Eunice Bonner Road and Denham Winchester Road. Deputy Charles Everett responded to the scene and learned that a 2000 school bus belonging to the Wayne County School District had been taken from Buckatunna School.
Wayne County Fire Investigator Mike Mozingo and Deputy State Fire Marshall Ken Carraway will be investigating the cause of the fire. Investigators Kevin Stevens and Mike Mozingo have initiated the investigation into the theft of the bus. It appears that the bus was involved in an accident due to damage to the front of the bus. Anyone that may have information related to this incident is asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff's Department at 735-3801 or Crime Stoppers at 735-LEAD (5323). You can also submit information online using our "Submit a Tip" form. A $1,000.00 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers.
