Three Men Charged With Burglary Of Buckatunna Business

On March 21st 2007 at approximately 0030 hours, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department received a call from an individual reporting that Kirkland Service Center had been broken into. The caller observed a small white truck leaving from behind the building and followed it to the Buckatunna Mount Zion Road. Deputy Russell Douglass responded to the scene and learned that some new tires had been stolen. Deputy Douglass called out additional Officers for assistance.
Deputy Charles Everett, Investigators Kevin Stevens and Mike Mozingo, Chief Deputy Gerald Barnett, and Sheriff Farrior began searching for the vehicle. Deputy Charles Everett located a vehicle matching the description on the County Lake Denham Road and conducted a traffic stop. Deputy Everett observed four new tires in the truck bed. Three suspects were taken into custody.
The eyewitness identified the truck and the business owner identified the four tires as being stolen from the business. The business owner verified that approximately 20 tires were missing from the store. Further investigation led Officers to believe that the remaining tires were at a location on Ben Fleming Road. Armed with a search warrant, Officers recovered an additional eleven new tires along with other physical evidence from Ben Fleming Road.
The three individuals arrested are; Charlie David Jordan W/M; 47 ; Foster Lane; James Channing Stevens W/M; 18; Bernice Walker Road; & Arthur David Jordan W/M; 17; Foster Lane. All three suspects are charged with burglary of a commercial building and are being held at the Wayne County Adult Detention Center awaiting an Initial Appearance.
