Pugh Charged With Murder

On April 4th 2007, at approximately 2030 hours, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department received a call reporting that a man had been killed at a residence located on Pugh Road. Sheriff Farrior, Deputies Wesley Waites, Tim Hollinghead, Michael Patton, and Investigators Mike Mozingo and Kevin Stevens responded along with Wayne General Ambulance and Wayne County Medical Examiner David Pugh.
Officers discovered David Lewis McCall deceased in a bedroom of the mobile home located at 269 Pugh Road. McCall sustained a gunshot wound. The cause of the shooting remains under investigation; however, alcohol was a contributing factor. Officers collected physical evidence at the scene and obtained statements from individuals.
Sheriff Farrior arrested Travis Pugh at the scene and charged him with murder. Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton set Pugh’s bond at $75,000.00. Sheriff Stein Farrior will present the case to the June 18th 2007 Grand Jury.
