Gattis & Smith Arrested On Drug Charges

On June 6th 2007, at approximately midnight, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Mike Mozingo and South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force Agent Johnny Smith arrested Johnny Smith and Clarence Gattis. Johnny Smith of 162 Chicora River Road was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. Gattis was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and two counts of sale of cocaine. The arrest occurred at an apartment located on Billy Cochan Drive in an undercover operation.
Smith and Gattis appeared before Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Brittion Sr. Friday. Smith had a bond of $15,000.00 while Gattis had bond set at $25,000.00 on each count. The cases will be presented to the January 7th 2008 Wayne County Grand Jury.
