On December 9th 2008, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged Vivian Leigh McRae, an employee of Wayne County Youth Court Services, with embezzlement. McRae turned herself in to authorities at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. The arrest stems from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department receiving a report of a county credit card being used for unauthorized purchases. The credit card in question was assigned to Wayne County Youth Services. Investigators Mike Mozingo and Kevin Stevens were assigned to the case. Video surveillance and register receipts were obtained from the store that the card was used. There was approximately $975.00 of unauthorized charges. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department was in communication with the Mississippi Auditor’s Office. The case will be presented to the June 2009 Wayne County Grand Jury by Investigator Mike Mozingo. Wayne County Justice Court Judge set McRae’s bond at $2,500.00.
