Additional Arrest On Firearm Charges

On December 10th 2008, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged David Scott Matthews, an employee of Wayne County Youth Court Services, with accessory before the fact to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. This is an additional arrest that resulted from the further investigation of the November 18th 2008, shooting incident.Shooting Incident
John Edward Stevens was previously charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Firearm Story
Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Brittion Sr. set Matthew’s bond at $15,000.00. Investigator Mike Mozingo will present this case to the June 2009 Wayne County Grand Jury. WCSO Investigators have been in contact with the ATF and the case remains under investigation.
