Man Arrested In Child Abuse Case

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has arrested and charged Charles Zebedee Henderson with felony child abuse. Henderson was arrested on May 11th 2009. The report was made to Sheriff Farrior on Thursday evening May 7th 2009. Sherff Farrior along with Investigators Mike Mozingo and Kevin Stevens have been participating in the investigation.
Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. set bond at $100,000.00. There is an on-going investigation involving injuries sustained by a two year old child. The Department of Human Services, The Children’s Justice Center, and The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department are participating in the investigation.
U P D A T E
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department was informed by University Medical Center Officials on the evening of May 19th 2009 that two year old Allyson Allen had died. An arrest warrant was issued the next morning and Henderson was arrested at his residence. Henderson was charged with capitol Murder. Henderson appeared before Wayne County Justice Court Judge Jane Hutto at an initial appearance however, no bond was set as capitol murder is not a bondable offense.
