Morgan Charged With Grand Larceny

On June 3rd 2009, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department received a call reporting that a piece of track hoe equipment was stolen from a work site at the end of Hanna Drive. Deputy Michael Patton responded. The item stolen was valued at $3,000.00 by the victim. The victim found the item at a local scrap yard the next morning. Deputy Tim Hollinghead and Investigator Stevens responded and learned that John Morgan had sold the item to the scrap yard and obtained an excellent description of the truck that was driven.
Deputy Tim Hollinghead located the vehicle at a residence on Hanna Drive. Investigators Kevin Stevens and Mike Mozingo responded. An eye witness came forward and provided Investigator Mozingo with a statement. Deputy Hollinghead located Morgan at another residence and was arrested and charged with grand larceny. The case will be presented to the June 2009 Grand Jury.
