Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Investigation Nets Twenty Violators

Several local drug dealers are now behind bars facing numerous drug charges as a result of a combined Multi-Jurisdictional drug investigation. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department joined forces with the Waynesboro Police Department, The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, The South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force, Clark County Sheriff’s Department, and Jasper County Sheriff’s Department. The results of the six month undercover operation came about Thursday October 22nd 2009 when Officers began executing search warrants and arrest warrants on numerous identified drug violators.
Officers converged on a residence located on Martin Luther King Drive in Waynesboro where several violators were arrested and property seized. Officers then simultaneously converged on residences located on Foster Lane and Taylor Circle.
Twenty individuals are now wanted for felony drug violations as a result of the operation. Eighteen men and two women found themselves on the list and some have multiple charges.”We have arrested nine individuals so far and will continue locating the remaining violators. If you are a person selling drugs, then most likely we are coming after you.” said Sheriff Farrior. Sheriff Farrior went on to say, “We will continue working with surrounding agencies in an effort to make a difference in the illegal drug business”. Waynesboro Chief Jimmy Bunch stated, “We will be continuing our efforts of working together to combat the drug problem”.
Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. has conducted the initial appearance for the individuals arrested to date. Those individuals that have currently been arrested are:
- Temmie T. Hundley; 2 counts sale of crack cocaine within 1500 ft of a church, school, & public park. Bond denied.
- Joey Kentese May; 1 count sale of crack cocaine within 1500 ft of a church, school, & public park. Bond denied.
- Robert Oneal Gandy; 2 counts sale of cocaine within 1500 ft of a church; 1 count possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1500 ft of a church. Bond denied.
- Deneen Terrell; 1 count sale of crack cocaine within 1500 ft of church, school, and public park. $15,000 bond.
- Ulyses Lewis Jr; 1 count possession of crack cocaine; 1 count sale of cocaine. $40,000 bond.
- Cory McDougle; 2 counts sale of crack cocaine; hold for MDOC. $50,000 Bond.
- Courtney Ruffin; 1 count sale of crack cocaine within 1500 ft of a church, school, & public park. $15,000 Bond.
- Johnny Pickins; 1 count sale of crack cocaine within 1500 ft of a church, school, & public park. Bond denied.
- Rodney Whitfield; 2 counts sale of crack cocaine. $50,000 bond.
- Arthur Williamson; 1 count sale of cocaine; bond pending.
